– Final Calling Campaign to all remaining Honor Roll level and above donors

– Secure a Chapter donation

– Confirm accuracy of May and mid June detail report and notify Headquarters of any corrections or changes ASAP

Message from Staff: Let us know how we can help!

With about 5 weeks until the end of the Campaign be sure to stay in contact with ASHRAE Staff and your RVC. Let us know what we can do to help!

Communication is always an important part of being an RP Chair, but this time of year it is even more important. There is limited time to address problems so we need to know about them as soon as possible.

Also, we want to remind everyone that ALL contributions have to be RECEIVED IN HEADQUARTERS by June 30th! There are no exceptions to this rule. Please don’t penalize your Chapter and the RP Campaign by waiting until the last minute. Get those contributions in!

Mid-May Report

Good Morning!

The Mid-May report is now ready for you to view!

We have made big strides the past couple of weeks. Please continue to send in checks as you receive them! Remember, do not sit on large Chapter checks. This can cause large swings in the Campaign results.

The PAOE deadline for 100% of goal by June 15th is only one month away!

Please take a few minutes to check your Spreadsheet and Real Time Reports.
If you notice any discrepancies, please let Staff know immediately.

Remember, from this point on, you should be running your reports more frequently. It is very important to keep track of your contributions and check for accuracy.

Message to Donors

There is still time to support ASHRAE Research and your Chapter!

If you have LYBUNTs that have not renewed their support, or if you have Chapter Members who have never contributed, consider approaching them, asking for their support, and let them know how far away the Chapter is from Goal, Challenge Goal. or High Five. People like to feel that their contribution will make a difference. For donors, seeing that their $100 contribution will get the Chapter that much closer to your Chapter’s Goal can be very motivating. Especially since most Chapters are well within spitting distance of their Goal, individual contributions are that much more impactful.

As we say in training – NEVER underestimate the power of $100 gifts.

So make those calls and contact your donors today!

White Roofs Better Than Dark, Vegetated Roofs, LBNL Study Finds

BERKELEY, Calif.—Compared to traditional dark-colored roofs and green or “vegetated” roofs, white roofs offer greater ability to lower temperatures that lead to the urban heat island effect, and they do it at less cost, according to a recent report. The Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory report states that building owners “concerned with global warming should choose white roofs, which are three times more effective than green roofs at cooling the globe.” The authors analyzed 22 commercial flat roof projects in the U.S. and performed a 50-year life-cycle cost analysis. They assumed a 20-year service life for black roofs and white roofs, and 40 years for green roofs. Compared to black roofs, the report says, white roofs save $25/m2 ($2.30/ft2) and green roofs have an additional cost of $71/m2 ($6.60/ft2). The authors also concluded that black roofs should be prohibited in some areas. “We strongly recommend building code policies that phase out dark-colored roofs in warm climates to protect against their adverse public health externalities,” the report states.

Major Donors, LYBUNTs, and SYBUNTs

Now that you have had time to look over your Donor Detail Report, it is the perfect time to target the past donors who have not yet given this year.

Is there a Major Donor missing from your list? They might be waiting on a personal ask.

Is there a LYBUNT missing? Maybe they need a quick reminder that the Campaign is nearing its end.

Is there a SYBUNT missing? Find out why they aren’t supporting RP any longer and rebuild that relationship.

Gather your Volunteer Committee and reach out to these potential donors!
